Progress! Almost there.

One month later the swap is coming along nicely and is very close to completion.  I don't have hardly any pictures of the progress due to lack of access to a camera.  Therefore, the few pictures that I have are from my cell phone camera.  With a three day weekend coming up I'm hoping to be drive the car very soon.  I'd love to take it to Caffeine and Octane on the 5th. 




Here is a list of completed tasks and the to do list.

Completed
-replace oil pump gasket (remove both oil pans,remove oil pump, scrape off old gasket, FIPG both pans)
-replace water pump (there's a screw that strips very easily)
-replace thermostat with seal, ignition cap, spark plugs, plug wires
-replace timing belt (also replaced oil pump shaft seal, crankshaft seal)
-install timing belt tensioner studs(makes changing the timing belt easier later when the engine is still in the car)
-strip engine bay and paint with GM Arctic White

To-Do list
-install downpipe and wideband O2 sensor (waiting for arrival in the mail)
-install flywheel and clutch
-mate engine with transmission
-mount engine to subframe and hubs
-install CRW spherical shifter cable bearings
-roll assemble under car and lift engine into place
-finish up MSD wiring and connectors for ignition coil and firewall feed through
-connect up all hoses, vacuum lines, and electrical connectors
-fill up with gear oil, motor oil, and coolant
-put interior back together (torn apart from wire tuck)
-enjoy!
